Bomb disablement training

Sandia hosts Operation America, a five-day workshop on advanced bomb-disablement technology for bomb squad personnel. To date, Operation America has trained approximately 1,200 civilian and military personnel. This product is available now.

Integrated bioattack response

Sandia’s BioNet program is tackling the problem of helping cities manage a bioterror attack by integrating civilian and military capabilities. Focusing on San Diego as the pilot location, BioNet is creating:

• A system to help local authorities detect and understand the nature of a bio-event
• Helping civilians and military staff communicate better to develop a faster for effective response
• Higher-performing and lower-cost technologies and methods for analyzing samples
• Guidelines for managing the consequences of an attack
