As terrorists worldwide continue to use explosives in attacks, the nation needs systems that can detect and disable explosives before they detonate. We need to develop new countermeasures to stop terrorists.

Sandia National Laboratories offers an array of tools and capabilities to expand our nation’s ability to counter this threat:

• Prevent: Sandia studies explosives signatures to improve detection systems, develops protection methods, and assists the first responder community with training and information.
• Detect: Sandia performs R&D to advance detection capabilities and help solve some of the nation’s most difficult counterterrorism challenges.
• Mitigate: Sandia’s tools help first responders disrupt explosive devices and decrease impacts to people, facilities, and infrastructures.

We work with:
