To create effective policies and responses to mitigate the effects of a chemical or biological attack, decision makers need detailed and credible information on how such attacks might play out.
To help generate that information, Sandia has led a multi-lab effort to study potential biological and chemical attacks and has participated in a similar study of chemical attacks. These studies are creating a deeper understanding of the nation's current capabilities for defending against chemical and biological incidents and could lead to improved responses over time.
Our work has involved the following steps:
