Sandia’s MicroChemLab is a hand-portable, highly sensitive device that can detect and identify a broad range of chemical and biological agents rapidly and with low false-alarm rates. The result of a decade of work, this technology demonstrates Sandia’s ability to innovate by integrating capabilities including microsystems, chemistry, biology, and systems engineering. To place this tool into the hands of first responders, Sandia is moving quickly with commercialization plans.
