The extremely versatile MICA tool can fit on many different commercial microscopes and has applications throughout many areas of biological research.
Sandia works closely with industry, small businesses, universities, and government agencies to bring new technologies to the marketplace. Discover how to leverage the resources of a national laboratory for your benefit. Sandia has been transferring technology to external partners for more than three decades, especially where such agreements benefit Sandia’s primary mission for the U.S. Department of Energy.
Sandia is seeking commercial partners to license Sandia intellectual property or contribute to the continued development of the MICA prototype or the core capabilities, such as computer modeling tools, embedded in MICA. Sandia has a strong track record of partnerships that result in successful commercial products and is open to discussing opportunities with interested organizations.
Depending on their business objectives, commercial partners may be eligible to license Sandia’s intellectual property, as needed to productize the MICA platform. Partners may also collaborate with Sandia to further develop this capability and build a proprietary position in the market.
The MICA tools and Sandia’s core capabilities in microfluidics, advanced imaging, and computational modeling are protected by a portfolio of patents and patent applications.
