Instructions for FY08 University Full Proposals for the National Consortium for MASINT Research (NCMR):
DUE DATE
Your proposal is due COB Wednesday 19 December 2007. Awards Notification Feb/Mar 2008.
CREATING YOUR PROPOSAL
Use the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) FastLane process to generate your proposal! We ask that you include your NCMR tracking number on the title line in the NSF cover sheet (example: TITLE OF PROPOSED PROJECT: XYZ Detection System [JHU-FY08-004]) in order to definitively match your proposal with your prior white paper. Please remember that the awards are for one (1) year grants. While you may provide details of several years you should be clear on what will be accomplished within the first year and what funding is needed for the first year. Remember that you should plan on travel associated with the consortium at least two times a year.
NSF provided the following guidance:
- Each institution should have a grants office that deals with submitting (and approving) the grant requests. The PIs should contact their grants office if they have never submitted a proposal to NSF. When the PI is ready to submit their proposal, they will need to go to the FastLane Webpage - https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/jsp/homepage/proposals.jsp. There they can read through the FAQs, the Grant Proposal Guide, and instructions for preparing and submitting proposals. Some of the PIs will be submitting supplements to already existing proposals while some will be submitting new proposals. The proposals should be submitted via IIS Special Project. Joneka Thompson will be happy to assist the PI should they still have questions after speaking with their grants office and reading through the information on the Fastlane Webpage:
Joneka Thompson, (703) 292-4774, (703) 292-9073(fax)
