Leonard Napolitano

Dr. Leonard M. Napolitano, Jr. is currently Director for Computational Sciences and Information Technologies at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, California. His organization consists of over 200 staff members and contractors in ten departments that range from fundamental research in decision analysis, large dataset manipulation and information extraction, multiscale physical processes modeling, and cybersecurity to operational departments that maintain and operate a range of computer networks and production computing and information resources. A fundamental thrust of the organization is collecting data from diverse sources including publicly available datasets, experimental results, model systems, and detailed simulation to extract information and converting it to knowledge that aids complex decision-making processes where data provenance and uncertainty are key attributes.
Mr. Napolitano will give the opening welcome address and introduce our Tuesday keynote speaker.
Greg Rewis

Greg Rewis is the Group Manager, Creative Solutions Evangelism at Adobe Systems. With over 20 years of computer industry experience, Greg spends in excess of 200 days of the year on the road, talking with customers, giving product demonstrations at trade shows and seminars, speaking at industry conferences, and leading specialized, advanced training sessions featuring Adobe’s Web Tools product line. Greg has been passionate about the web since putting his first “home page” online in 1994. His career has taken him around the world, from the early days of desktop publishing, to a start-up in Hamburg, Germany, the glory days of the web at Macromedia and finally his current role at Adobe. The original GoLive Cyberstudio Product Manager and former Dreamweaver Technical Product Manager, Greg is the co-author of “Mastering CSS with Dreamweaver CS3″ published by New Riders.
Mr. Rewis will be delivering the Monday tutorial in conjunction with Stephanie Sullivan.
Stephanie Sullivan

In demand by top US firms, Stephanie Sullivan is a world-class Dreamweaver, accessibility, and web standards expert whose razor-sharp CSS and (X)HTML skills make her company, W3Conversions, a peerless authority for training corporate web teams, troubleshooting sites, or transforming in-house designs into efficient, standards-based websites. Sullivan created the CSS layouts for Dreamweaver CS3 and is coauthor of the respected project-based book Mastering CSS with Dreamweaver CS3 and updated Mastering CSS with Dreamweaver CS4 (coming soon). She’s co-leader of the influential Web Standards Project Adobe Task Force, a partner at Community MX, and a speaker who engages audiences around the world with her dynamic presentations.
Ms. Sullivan will be delivering the opening keynote address for InterLab 2008 on Tuesday morning, and will be delivering the Monday tutorial session in conjunction with Mr. Rewis.
Andras Szakal

Mr. Szakal is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Chief Architect of IBM’s Federal Software business unit. His responsibilities include developing e-Government software architectures using IBM middleware and leading the IBM federal government software IT architect team. Mr. Szakal has been a driving force behind IBM’s adoption of federal government IT standards and is a member of the IBM Software Group Strategy Team. He and his architect team have been responsible for helping the federal government move e-Government into the On-Demand era through the application of SOA. Mr. Szakal represents IBM Software Group on the Board of Directors of The Open Group. He currently holds the Chair of the IT Architect Profession Certification Standard (ITAC) within the Open Group and is the primary author of the ITAC standard.
Mr. Szakal will be delivering the Wednesday morning keynote address, titled “Smart SOA: Accelerate. Innovate.”
