Applicability, Exceptions, and Consequences

This corporate procedure applies to all Members of the Workforce involved in activities on Sandia-controlled premises where the potential for exposure to indoor air pollutants exists. This procedure does not apply to environmental comfort concerns. Consult with the facilities support contact for environmental issues such as climate control.

Exceptions to, or deviations from this procedure must be approved through the Executive Policy Sponsor or Policy Area Manager, if delegated. Address Indoor Air Quality Concerns Managers
  • Contact the division ES&H team industrial hygienist to perform an exposure assessment of your workplace when an indoor air quality concern has been expressed.
  • Refer Members of Workforce to Health Benefits and Employee Services (NM) or Employee Services and Resources (CA) when a health concern has been expressed.
  • Implement any control measures specified in the exposure assessment.
  • Contact the division ES&H team industrial hygienist to re-evaluate potential indoor air quality concerns when a change in workplace conditions indicate a potential new or increased hazard exists.
