- To provide standards and specifications for building and site systems for he ease of maintenance and establishing consistent equipment to lower life-cycle costs.

| Objectives: |
- Provide design manuals, construction specifications, and standard construction drawings.
- Comply with applicable DOE Orders, applicable building codes, and associated regulations.
- Provide standard documents that promote green building practices that allign with the credits defined by the LEED rating system.
- Move toward industry standards that lower life cycle and initial costs.
- Apply industry "Highly Protected Risk" (HPR) standards.
- Clearly define the desired level of quality and performance
required for design, construction, and operations of buildings and infrastructure.
- Continuously improve the standards by addressing life safety, life-cycle cost, green building, energy efficiency, and security.
