Student Internships
Sandia offers numerous opportunities for students from high school level all the way up to students pursuing a Ph.D.

One Year on Campus
How would you like to get your Masters Degree, have it paid for, get paid while you’re at school, and be guaranteed full-time employment upon completion? Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Not at Sandia National Laboratories! We will actually send you to one of the Nation’s top schools and pay your way.

Sandia’s One-Year-on-Campus (OYOC) program provides an opportunity for minorities with a bachelor-level degree to receive a Master of Science degree. Qualified individuals are hired at Sandia as full-time regular employees. They are then required to return to school in a full-time capacity and complete a Masters degree within one year. Upon successful completion of the OYOC Program, participants will return to Sandia as full-time members of the technical staff and must remain for one year following completion of the degree program or reimburse Sandia for the cost of the program.

OYOC’s receive a benefits package that includes:

  • Health and Life Insurance
  • Paid Interview and Relocation Expenses

*Benefits vary slightly while OYOC participants are in school.

OYOC candidates will be determined through a selection process from a pool of applicants who have been interviewed and sponsored by Sandia organizations with openings in the area of the candidates’ training and interests. Participants receive a competitive salary while working at Sandia full-time and a stipend while attending school. Sandia pays for one campus visit, relocation to and from the university, and tuition.
