If Sandia workers are injured or killed during an emergency, or if their health or safety status is unknown or uncertain, Sandia may activate a Family Assistance Center (FAC) to host family members and provide counseling and support services for friends, family members, and others seeking information about the incident.
The FAC will provide updated information about the emergency to families and friends as soon as it is available.
The FAC will be staffed by the American Red Cross assisted by Sandia medical professionals. FAC staff will be available to accompany family members to hospitals or other medical facilities as appropriate, to help with problems, and to communicate Sandia's role in helping with the situation.
The primary FAC site in New Mexico is the Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union, 3707 Comanche NE (northwest corner of Juan Tabo and Comanche). Alternate locations may be used depending on the situation. During an emergency, the activation and location of the Family Assistance Center will be announced to the public via the local news media and this website.
The FAC for Sandia’s California site will be the Sandia Laboratories Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) located at 39 South Livermore Avenue, Suite 101, near N. Livermore Avenue and First Street.
