Effects of electrical anisotropy in crossbedded sandstones on a two-coil induction sonde. Across bedsets, the orientation of the electrical anisotopy tensor can lead to spurious signals in the apparent resistivity induction log. The effect is quantified in the plot on the right for six different angles of symmetrically clipping bedsets. Without anisotropy modeling, such signals could easily be misinterpreted as variations in formation fluid saturation. (54 KB)
