OBJECTIVE:Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to state the responsibilities for videoconferencing at SNL.
The unclassified video conference units located throughout SNL are for unclassified and unclassified controlled information (UCI) use only, with the exception of Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI). It is the users' responsibility to ensure that the use of these systems does not compromise or provide unauthorized access to classified information or Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI).
DOE has authorized the use of Video Conferencing for UCI not to include UCNI. For more information on the transmission of UCI refer to Dept. 7121 Classification and Information Security Home Page.
In order to meet this requirement, you must observe all of the following:
- Prior to connection of a videoconference, announce to others in the area that a videoconference will be in progress. Only unclassified information may be displayed or discussed in the room during the videoconference.
- Close doors to the videoconference room to prevent transmission of any conversations outside the room and to prevent being a noise nuisance for others.
- Ensure that no classified/UCNI documents or material are visible within the visual coverage area of the camera.
