Adventures in Science and Knowledge| K-12 Education Partnerships

Working With Teachers Supporting teachers in the classroom is paramount to student success. Sandia National Laboratories and Lockheed Martin are partners in the APS Join-a-School Creative Grants. This is one way we can help teachers in APS Classrooms. We do this through the yearly competitive grant process that funds creative efforts in classrooms with $500 and $1000 grants. Any teacher in an APS School can apply for this funding and the grants are distributed each April. We support efforts that promote science, technology, engineering and math in schools. The Seeds of Learning Grants are available on a monthly basis for smaller classroom projects, $250 or less. http://www.joinaschool.org/home.htm

		Professional Development Program Support includes scholarships to NSTA conferences, funding for the Science Education Institute of the Southwest (SEIS) workshops, matching funds for teachers seeking National Board Certification and a DOE Academies Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) Program. 		DOE Academics Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) The DOE Academies Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) program at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is a four-week summer program for middle school teachers. Learn More
