What is the ACTS Program? The DOE Academies Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) program at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is a four-week summer program for middle school teachers designed to provide research experiences, speakers and tours for teachers that will increase their science content knowledge, as well as provide new ideas for sharing science/engineering applications and careers with their students. Teachers form a collaborative network, sharing teaching strategies and education modules. Why should I attend ACTS at Sandia National Laboratories? All ACTS components address the National Science Education Standards. Teachers receive a stipend of $800.00 per week.
