How to Apply

The Center for Cyber Defender program is a unique opportunity. This program is offered at both the Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Livermore, California sites, with a major emphasis on summer internships. It is aimed at student interns, undergraduates, Masters, PhDs, and people in the Masters Fellowship Program. Scholarships are available for Service and Co-Op students. Other programs include sabbaticals, site visits under contract, university leaves of absence, post-doctoral appointments, etc.

Job postings are posted on the external web for a period of time. Summer internship job postings are usually posted around the September-October timeframe. If you are interested specifically in the Cyber Defender program, be sure to list this program by name. Resumes in the system are searched by keywords (Cyber Defender, CCD, computer security......)

Student Intern Requirements:

  • Full time student enrolled in a college or university (undergrad = 12 hours, grad = 9 hours)
  • Majoring in Computer Science or a related field (i.e., CE, EE, Math, etc)
  • GPA of at least 3.2 for undergraduates or GPA of at least 3.5 for graduates (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Ability to receive a DOE security clearance (U.S. Citizen)
