The economic activity generated by Sandia National Laboratories helps make our community a better place. Sandia provides jobs, makes purchases, and pays taxes while helping our nation secure a peaceful and free world through technology.
More than 8,856 people make up the Sandia New Mexico workforce that generates more than $525 million in salaries. Other benefits, such as retirement and health care, add another $155 million to the economy.
Sandia spends more than $400 million for purchasing equipment, materials, and other items in New Mexico. These purchases and other economic activities (about $1 billion total) generate more than $65.6 million in Gross Receipts Taxes to support our state and local governments.
