Water Treatment

Our Water Treatment programs are based upon our membranes and polymeric/hybrid material core capability.  We design new membranes for ultra- and nano-filtration and reverse osmosis processes.

In addition to our core competencies in polymeric and hybrid materials and testing, we have a membrane water treatment lab with a 5-cell electrodialysis stack, one high pressure RO stirred cell, three low-pressure stirred cells, and three crossflow membrane cells.  We measure water flux, salt rejection, small molecule rejection, and fouling of commercial membranes and membranes that we produce in-house.

Our research interfaces with the Sandia Water Initiative as well as with internal LDRD.
