Application: Global Energy System
Global Energy System (GES) comprises the atmosphere; lithosphere; hydrosphere; and biosphere, which includes human economic and socio-political systems, energy generation, storage, and control, and interdependent global distribution networks. Use of fossil fuels has resulted in high-CO2 emissions, dependence on foreign petroleum and inadequate investment in energy source diversification. The world requires energy surety (safety, security, reliability, cost effectiveness, and sustainability) to support economic development, a high standard of living and national/global security.
