Lytkarino
Location: on the left bank of Moscow river, 12 kms to the south from railway station Lubertchu. It is a river port. Many military scientific organizations and enterprises are situated in the town Turaevo which is the part of Lytkarino. Most of them are experimental units of Moscow head research institutes and enterprises.
Population: 51,3 thousand (1.01.96). Able-bodied among them are 28,400 people.
Employment: More than a half of able-bodied population is employed at the enterprises and organizations of the state ownership and joint-stock companies (65,1 %). The others work for private companies, co-operatives, and small enterprises.
History: The city Lytkarino has arisen on a place of a village, known from the 1st half of 15-th century. Status of the city was given to Lytkarino in 1957.

Joint-stock Company of an Opened Type - Lytkarino Factory of Optical Glass (LZOS) The number of working is more than 6000 persons. It submits to the department of manufacture of arms. The basic kinds of production: object-glasses, field-glasses and visual pipes, night glasses, consumer goods (toys).
Scientific-Trial Centre on the Test and Operational Development of the Air Installations Nowadays it has a status of the State Research Centre with the number of working about 1000 persons.
Research Institute of Devices - Number of working is about 600 persons. Enterprise "Union". Concerns to the space branch. Number of working is more than 1000 persons.
